Ted Epstein is the FIRST PERSON IN THE WORLD TO COMPLETE THE GRAND SLAM OF TRIATHLONS, DOUBLE, TRIPLE, QUADRUPLE AND QUINTUPLE IRONMAN TRIATHLONS, ALL IN ONE YEAR PERIOD.. ALL WITHIN SIX MONTHS… (and with a herniated disc surgery between events!)

For fun, Ted Epstein wore his tuxedo at the Denver Marathon in May 1983. He got serious when in 1986 Ted Epstein climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa!

And Ted Epstein ran 480 miles across Siberia in 12 days in July 1989. He was Winner… and only finisher!

In April 1990 and 1991 Ted Epstein ran the Grand Canyon, in one day, South to North Rim, down & up.

On Nov. 7-25th, 1992 Ted Epstein at the at the Deca Ten Ironman Triathlon in Monterrey, Mexico, swam 24 miles, biked 1,120 miles, ran 10 marathons (that’s 252 miles!).

On July 19th, 1993 Swam across Bering Strait, from Russia to Alaska! He is one of two first men in the world to do this: Joe Oakes and Ted Epstein, Jr.

Every weekend for 20 years now, Ted and his running friends, completed an unofficial marathon within Metropolitan Denver. Many life-long friendships developed especially Ted and David Savitz.

Ted Epstein also completed the Stockholm, Sweden Marathon and several more Rim Rock Races in Grand Junction, however, no exact records of such are found.
